Main limitations

The provider says it is less suitable for multi-turn chat. Historical leaderboard scores are not current rankings. This Instruct variant has different licensing from the Apache-licensed base model; download size is not memory demand.

Cost and access

No hosted subscription or token fee for local inference within the license’s permitted uses. Hardware, electricity and setup are separate. The Instruct weights use CC BY-NC 4.0 because of noncommercial fine-tuning data. The base model is Apache 2.0, but that does not license these Instruct weights for unrestricted commercial use.

Getting started

Install a current compatible Ollama version, review the exact model license, then run: ollama run solar:10.7b. API means the local runtime endpoint, not a hosted service included with the weights.
