Main limitations

SillyTavern is only an interface and needs a separate local or hosted LLM backend. Android uses a documented installation route, not a conventional native app. Web search and image generation need extensions or external engines. Text-to-speech alone is not two-way Voice Chat. Availability of local use does not make cloud-backed chats local.

Cost and access

The interface is free under AGPL-3.0. Model API fees, optional engines, hardware and hosting can cost extra.

Use the release branch and the installation guide for your OS, connect an LLM backend, then create a character card or use an empty Assistant card.
