People or teams who want a browser-based chat platform they can configure around local or hosted models.
The official README documents local providers, file tools, web search, code interpretation, images and an agent-management API. The local setup guide explains Docker deployment and browser access.
LibreChat is not an inference model. Local processing requires a local backend and suitably local tools. Most listed features require provider and administrator configuration; code interpreters and attached workspaces have separate permissions and some are experimental. Speech input/output is not assumed to be full real-time Voice Chat.
Core self-hosted software is free. Model inference, search providers, image services, code sandboxes and hosting can create separate costs.
Follow the official local setup guide, open the running interface, configure a provider and test one basic chat before enabling tools or inviting other users.
